I’ve built this practice on Nikon DSLRs — a D40 and a D5000 — and they taught me everything that matters: read the light, get close, wait for the moment. Every gala, panel and headshot day so far has been earned with glass, patience and positioning rather than a spec sheet.
The next chapter is a full-frame body upgrade. Not for the badge — for what it unlocks for clients: cleaner frames in dim ballrooms, faster autofocus on a moving show floor, and files big enough for a step-and-repeat banner, not just a slide deck.
